too old too young?

I dont really know what to say.

Well, actually, Dee Bennett from London wrote about the above article, and her comments what got me thinking this time:

"The saddest thing is the lack of expression in the child's eyes and face, as though she has cut off all emotion. Her childhood seems to be destroyed."

Have we really got to this? My father, in moments

of nostalgia, will often contemplate hopscotch and conker championships, and my grandmother recollects passing the time making jam and handing teacups filled with nothing to her unspeaking doll companions sat on pillows on the floor. But a boob job? 7 years old? What has become of us?

The future generation seem to be surrounded by an envirionment that place heavy principles on stripping the layers of innocence slowly away and getting to the core of adulthood light years ahead of time. Children deserve a childhood and youthful innocence- what will happen to this girl, what will she think in 10 years time, looking back to those values she has lived with for years being shown to her teenage friends for the first time? Embarressment, disgust at her mother? Or maybe she'll accept it as normal, and bring her children up in the same way, maybe even younger, thus creating a spiralling chain of disaster for the future.

We might as well just give our children Gucci handbags and fake eyelashes at birth.
