I have no excuse for not writing for so long…there have been numerous times when I’ve just had pen and paper for company, but nothing seemed to want to be said. Blame good old Writers Block. I'm in my room writing an essay, poking people on facebook, texting at the same time, all the normal shenanigans one gets up to on a Saturday morning. And then Michael Bubles “Blue Christmas” starts playing on the radio.

I turn toward the sound, a look of shocking realisation steadily etching its way across my face. It’s here. Christmas has come.
